What We Offer

The Boys & Girls Club of Franklin offers character and skill building programs to each of its members:

Passport to Manhood: “Passport to Manhood” is a 14 week program that promotes and teaches responsibility for male Club members ages 11-14.  Some of the topics that are taught are decision making, personal wellness, substance abuse, diversity, and cooperation and conflict.  After 14 weeks a child will have successful leadership experiences, have completed a group service project, have a positive self-identity derived from group experiences, and have an ongoing health and fitness routine.

Project Learn: Enhancing the skills and knowledge of youth through “high-yield” learning activities

Power Hour: Homework Assistance and Tutoring

SMART Moves: A prevention and education program to abstain from tobacco, drug and alcohol use as well as abstinence from sexual involvement.

SMART Girls: A program to develop healthy attitudes and lifestyles for girls ages 8-17.

Kids in Control: A safety awareness program that develops personal safety skills at home, the Club, and in their neighborhoods.

Arts & Crafts: Projects help members express their creativity.  Arts & Crafts are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week.

Computer Lab: Provides members with an opportunity for hands-on experience with technology and develops educational skills.

Reading Club: Offers members time to read and be read to.

Gymnasium Activities: Daily activities allow members to participate in fun games and activities as they exercise and learn sportsmanship.

Group Games & Activities: Hangman, Pictionary and other fun games are played in groups of 8-12.

Game Room Area: Pool Tables, Foosball, Bumper Pool, Checkers, Chess, Board and Card Games are played daily.  Members also color and draw in this area.

Board Games & Legos: Allows members to play with LEGO’s and animal sets in our Gym Balcony IGA/PGA Lego’s Room.

BG Bucks Store: Members earn points for organized activities and can spend them on prizes once a month if they’ve earned at least 200 BG Bucks.

Teen Scene: The Teen Scene is an area dedicated to 6th graders and above during after school. In this room kids can work on their homework, play card/board games, guitar hero, video games, Wii, or relax and watch an occasional movie.  These kids are also involved in different groups and programs (i.e. partnering with other local organizations to offer services through community service projects). 

Other Events: Planned throughout the year for holidays such as Halloween, Christmas and Easter as well as activities for our annual Boys & Girls Club Week and Kids’ Week Celebrations.

Plus many, many more drop-in activities planned daily at the Boys & Girls Club of Franklin!!!!
